Sterling Commerce, the multi-enterprise collaboration company and a subsidiary of AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T), has announced another addition to the Australia/New Zealand sales team.  Fiona White, a recent graduate of Melbourne University was hired from the ProGrad programme as Client Relationship Manager, based in the Sterling Commerce Melbourne office.

White will look after Sterling Commerce’s large install base of customers in manufacturing, retail, financial services, pharmaceutical, logistics and telecommunications, with a key focus on serving regional customers in local and federal government.  Her charter will be to reconnect with the extensive installed base of customers who have known Sterling Commerce for their B2B Gateway and Managed File Transfer products, but may be unaware of the company’s newer offerings in the Supply Chain Applications space.  She will work with clients throughout Australia and New Zealand.

White recently graduated with honours as a double major, with a Bachelor of Science (Genetics and Biotechnology) and a Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing and Economics) from the University of Melbourne. Her accomplishments include leading the prize-winning team that designed the Proctor & Gamble marketing strategy case study, as well as participating in a Genetics Research Project for the University of Melbourne’s Genetics Lab.

She has joined Sterling Commerce through ProGrad’s Graduate Assessment, Placement and Training Service that specialises in selecting the best University graduates in Australia in the area of sales and marketing. Each candidate embarks on a master class soft skills training delivered over four key modules and receives considerable training from the programme as well as the hiring company.

“We’re always on the look-out for up and coming talent. Fiona has a unique combination of scientific and business skills, with her study and internships covering both biotech and commerce.  You couldn’t ask for a better combination of skills, in an Enterprise Software Salesperson,” said Michael Vulcan, Managing Director, Sterling Commerce, Australia and New Zealand. “Fiona is already out there making sales calls in person and on the phone, managing government partners and telling customers about our new products in the supply chain applications market.”
