After finishing his studies at the Monash University Joe took the advice from his older sister and sent his resume into ProGrad. Shortly after he received a phone call and was sitting in the Assessment Day with 30 other nervous Graduates. “The assessment day started off extremely well and continued that way. The young faces in the room made me feel right at home. The group activities were organised, challenging and interesting.” Joe, ProGrad Graduate.
The following week, Joe went off to 3 different interviews. The position that most impressed him was at CMC Australia, a large well know organisation that deals with the importation of steel. CMC offered Joe a fantastic opportunity he couldn’t reject. A 2 year intensive training programme was developed where Joe would work in both Sydney and Melbourne to become a full time Steel Trader. Although Joe was up against another candidate with 8 years experience in the Steel industry, he was chosen for the role based on his preparation before each interview and willingness to learn more about the organisation and industry.
“My advice for a potential applicant is, go into the assessment day and each interview with confidence and don’t think you need a business degree to impress the suits.” Joe, ProGrad Graduate
